| 中文： | 人的日子既然限定，他的月数在你那里，你也派定他的界限，使他不能越过。 |
| 英文： | Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass; |

| 中文： | 便求你转眼不看他，使他得歇息。直等他像雇工人完毕他的日子。 |
| 英文： | Turn from him, that he may rest, till he shall accomplish, as an hireling, his day. |

| 中文： | 树若被砍下，还可指望发芽，嫩枝生长不息。 |
| 英文： | For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease. |

| 英文： | Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground; |

| 中文： | 及至得了水气，还要发芽，又长枝条，像新栽的树一样。 |
| 英文： | Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant. |

| 中文： | 但人死亡而消灭。他气绝，竟在何处呢。 |
| 英文： | But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he? |

| 中文： | 海中的水绝尽，江河消散乾涸。 |
| 英文： | As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and drieth up: |

| 中文： | 人也是如此，躺下不再起来。等到天没有了，仍不得复醒，也不得从睡中唤醒。 |
| 英文： | So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep. |

| 中文： | 惟愿你把我藏在阴间，存于隐密处，等你的忿怒过去。愿你为我定了日期，记念我。 |
| 英文： | O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me! |

| 英文： | For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin? |

| 英文： | My transgression is sealed up in a bag, and thou sewest up mine iniquity. |

| 中文： | 山崩变为无有。磐石挪开原处。 |
| 英文： | And surely the mountain falling cometh to nought, and the rock is removed out of his place. |

| 中文： | 水流消磨石头，所流溢的洗去地上的尘土。你也照样灭绝人的指望。 |
| 英文： | The waters wear the stones: thou washest away the things which grow out of the dust of the earth; and thou destroyest the hope of man. |

| 中文： | 你攻击人常常得胜，使他去世。你改变他的容貌，叫他往而不回。 |
| 英文： | Thou prevailest for ever against him, and he passeth: thou changest his countenance, and sendest him away. |

| 中文： | 他儿子得尊荣，他也不知道。降为卑，他也不觉得。 |
| 英文： | His sons come to honour, and he knoweth it not; and they are brought low, but he perceiveth it not of them. |

| 英文： | But his flesh upon him shall have pain, and his soul within him shall mourn. |
